Military History Group: Kentucky and the Revolutionary War. Although there were fewer battles and engagements in Kentucky than in the Northern and Southern theaters, the Bluegrass State was not immune from the depredations arising from the War for Independence. Between skirmishes with native peoples and battles with British regular troops, the Kentucky frontier lived up to its name of the "dark and bloody ground". Even after the conflict with Britain ended, many veterans relocated to the territory to claim land allotted as bounties for military service. In this presentation, join our exploration of a new interactive resource which details the story of Kentucky and the American Revolution, and its importance in winning the battle for freedom.

The Military History Group is a bimonthly discussion group. Please come prepared to offer your own knowledge of history and contribute toward making this an interesting session.
