Ellis Trail to Nicodemus Documentary Premier.  In 1878, freed slaves from Kentucky made the perilous journey west to the prairie to make their homes in Nicodemus, Kansas.  In this new documentary tracing their journey, descendants of these original families trace their ancestors' path and capture their feelings as they leave their past and enter their future.  Join us for the premier of this powerful documentary, written and directed by Angela Bates, Nicodemus descendant and historian, who will also discuss her own journey in making this film.
