Simon Girty

Simon Girty.  Captured by Senecas on the western Pennsylvania frontier, Girty became assimilated into their culture.  Serving with the colonials at the war for independence's beginning, Girty sided with Native Americans and the British.  Thereafter, he was considered a renegade and turncoat.
