Lecture

Our lecture presentations are provided by knowledgeable presenters who are trained in their fields or sharing their personal experiences.

Join Roda Ferraro, curator of Keeneland Library’s The Heart of the Turf: Racing’s Black Pioneers traveling exhibit hosted by Scott County Public Library during the month of February 2026, for an engaging program with hands-on activities centered on the lives and contributions of African Americans in the horse industry.

Ferraro will provide children attendees with a free copy of The Jockey and Her Horse, a children’s book that tells the inspiring story of Cheryl White – the first female Black jockey to win a race in the country.
